Sunset Transportation, along with the Transportation Intermediaries association (TIA) need your help supporting business and the movement of goods between the U.S., Canada and Mexico should the U.S. withdraw from NAFTA.
The United States freight market benefits greatly from having a trade agreement between our neighbors to the north and south, and in the first quarter of 2019 more than $107 billion of goods were moved along the borders. Congress is now faced with an opportunity to ratify a new trade agreement called the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) in the face of withdrawing from NAFTA, our current trade agreement that affects both the north and south borders.
If our alliances with NAFTA are withdrawn, and if Congress does not approve the USMCA agreement, the economic impact for the freight industry would be disastrous. The transportation industry can not afford to lose this market. Their request is to take action by sending a pre-filled letter to your lawmakers through a very fast process: Click HERE to send a letter to Congress urging them to support the trade agreement. Please click the “Take Action” button, the letter is prewritten and all you have to do is add your name and hit submit.
