Sunset Says: Sunset customers are encouraged again to check their HS Codes against the most current list provided by USTR for immediate changes effective September 1, and what is anticipated to take effect in December 2019.
Many of the items excluded from the September list are major electronic items such as laptops, cell phones, etc., to ease the impact on the consumer holiday season, as these items currently will now be captured on the December increase.
It’s very likely there are Sunset customers who will be impacted by these additional increases; they will be best served by evaluating and planning ahead for this 10% increase both September AND December, and adjust to account for the financial impacts this legislation. We’re here to help!
