Ginny Polach named a 2022 WIT Top Woman to Watch in Transportation

Sunset’s Director of Human Resources, Ginny Polach, named a 2022 Top Woman to Watch in Transportation by the Women in Trucking Association.

ST. LOUIS – Sunset Transportation, a Top 10 women-owned third-party logistics company headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is proud to announce Ginny Polach as a 2022 Top Woman to Watch in Transportation by the Women in Trucking Association (WIT).

The Women In Trucking Association (WIT) announced today its fifth annual list of Top Women to Watch in Transportation. The editorial staff of WIT’s Redefining the Road magazine selected these individuals for their significant career accomplishments in the past 12 to 18 months as well as their efforts to promote gender diversity. Recipients exemplify WIT’S mission; encourage the employment of women in the trucking industry, promote their accomplishments and minimize obstacles faced by women working in the trucking industry.  Ginny joins 84 other distinguished women in this year’s class and is included in the 19% of winners in the Human Resources field.

The resilience displayed by these women supports and furthers the mission of the Women In Trucking Association to encourage the employment of women in the trucking industry, promote their accomplishments and minimize obstacles faced by women working in the industry”, said Ellen Voie, WIT president and CEO.

Ginny Polach has been Sunset Transportation’s Director of Human Resources since 2016.  Her accomplishments are many, including the formalization of Sunset’s recruitment and hiring processes, new and improved work/life balance policies (including paid paternity leave), and creating a sustainable, evolving training program for all positions in the organization. Earning this achievement showcases how highly Ginny is regarded at Sunset and is a testament to how she has fostered a positive, diverse, and inclusive working environment.  The pandemic’s unique challenges have impacted logistics in many ways, but daily employee operations at Sunset have thrived with Ginny at the helm of team morale and safety.  She has been a 24/7 resource regarding medical leave, mental health, and everything in between for Sunset’s 215-person team.

Ginny’s contributions to Sunset are hard to put into a concise paragraph – there are so many elements of engagement she has brought to Sunset for the better.  During COVID especially, she was a steady sail in uncharted waters at our growing organization.  Ginny provides a guiding ear and voice for all things on the human side of our business, and our culture is second to none thanks to her leadership.  She is a friend to all while being a professional sounding board for Sunset as a whole.  We celebrate and congratulate her,” says Lindsey Graves, Sunset Transportation President and CEO.
