Scouting for Food 2012
It is that time of year again: the weather is turning colder, warm coats are being pulled out of the closet, and food is becoming more scarce for those in need. Which means, that it is time for America’s Largest One Day Food Drive again! This year, Scouting for Food is on Saturday, November 17th. Each year, over 2.2 million pounds of food get picked up from various fire stations in St. Louis by hundreds of local Boy Scout troops. This food is transferred by over 50 tractor trailers to the St. Louis Area food Bank, where it is sorted and distributed to more than 400 local food pantries.
This year, we are looking for help from our local St. Louis carrier partners in assisting in the transportation of the donated food from the various drop points across the city to the St. Louis Area Food Bank.
