2014 Marks Four-peat Return to Inc. 5000 List of Fastest-Growing Companies for Sunset

Sunset Transportation is honored to be named on the 2015 Inc. 500|5000 List of fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. Recognized on this list for the fourth consecutive year, this honor underscores the company’s sustained growth and stability in an industry that is experiencing increased consolidation.

Sunset ranks #83 in Missouri and #3925 overall nationally; it also ranks among the top 125 fastest-growing logistics and transportation businesses. The 3PL leader has earned the fastest-growing distinction each year since 2012; the Inc. list is a hallmark of entrepreneurial success and has included top companies like Facebook, FitBit, Levi Strauss and Zappos.

Recognition Result of Sunset Customers, Team

“It’s been our focus to continue our growth while improving services and savings for our customers,” said Craig Marton, president and COO. “Being on the Inc. 500|5000 list for the fourth year is a testament to Sunset’s hard-working staff, freight agents and leadership team. We also owe our sustained growth, expansion and success to our loyal customers and industry partners.”

Inc. reported Sunset’s three-year overall growth at 76 percent. The national logistics leader is providing jobs across the country; it has increased its staff by 20 percent, opened a new location in Bend, Oregon, and expanded two existing branches—Chicago and Grand Haven, Michigan—into larger locations.

In 2015, Sunset has also been recognized as a Top Workplace in St. Louis and its CFO Mark Cammarata was named CFO of the Year.

Sunset Positioned for Ongoing Expansion and Job Creation

Sunset’s strategic growth shows no signs of stopping, according to Marton. Even though there is consolidation occurring in the freight industry as a whole, Sunset is doing just the opposite.

In 2016, the company has plans to open a Nashville branch and expand their St. Louis operations with a dedicated Sunset Financial branch, which also translates into increased employment and expansion opportunities nationwide.
