Lindsey Graves Earns Boy Scouts of America Silver Beaver Award for Distinguished Service
Lindsey Graves accepted the Boy Scouts of America’s Silver Beaver Award on behalf of Sunset Transportation, the highest recognition a Boy Scout council can bestow on a volunteer.
Lindsey Graves was honored to receive the 2019 Silver Beaver Award in December, accepting on behalf of Sunset Transportation for 16 consecutive years of providing volunteer logistics service to Scouting for Food. She was nominated by her peers on the Greater St. Louis Area Council Board of Directors. Lindsey begins her fourth year on the Board in 2020.
Sunset’s first Silver Beaver Award was presented to founder and chief executive officer Jim Williams in 2011. The Greater St. Louis Area Council presented its first Silver Beaver Awards in January 1932. Since then, the council has had more than 1,800 Silver Beaver recipients! The award is presented to those volunteers who have provided noteworthy service that impacts the lives of youth and who have made outstanding contributions to the Scouting program. Nominations are recommended by the local council and approved by the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
