St. Louis Business Journal Features Sunset Transportation on Growth, Branch Expansion

The St. Louis Business Journal recently reached out to Sunset Transportation to share our story.
With double-digit revenue growth—and continued expansion across the country through several new branches—it’s an exciting time at Sunset.

We are thankful to our customers, carriers and staff for helping us to achieve these milestones. And, it’s confirmation that we’re headed in the right direction when an esteemed business publication like the Business Journal features our company in its print edition.

Article Highlights

  • The improving economy, especially in construction, is fueling growth and revenues for Sunset’s third party logistics services. Non-residential construction—especially transporting heavy loads on tight deadlines—is a natural fit for our expert team and excellent carriers.
  • Sunset’s Lindsey Graves, vice president of operations, also discussed how our team shines in event freight logistics and transporting food products. Sunset grew revenue by 24 percent in the construction and food industries in the past year.
  • Lindsey also discussed how Sunset added three new branch offices in 2015, bringing the total to 6. We expect to open another branch in 2016.
  • Other things to note: Sunset is on target to hire 12 new employees in 2016; our new president and COO Craig has just launched a three-year strategic plan; and we’re continuing to upgrade our proprietary transportation management system (TMS) software.

Thanks to print editor Vince Brennan for covering our story and photojournalist Mark Gilliland for visuals.
