WIT Top Companies for Women to Work For Includes Sunset for the First Time
Sunset is very pleased to announce our first-time appearance on the Women in Trucking Top Companies for Women to Work For list in 2020.
Sunset was chosen for the list of 90 companies from national freight business sectors including motor carriers, third-party logistics companies, and original equipment manufacturers. Our family-centric model contributed to our nomination. We’re so proud to add this distinction to our achievements in 2020.

- 50% of Sunset’s director and senior leadership-level teams are women.
- 40% of Sunset’s 150+ employees are women, and that number continues to climb.

Sunset is led by the second generation; a female COO and mother of three girls who believes in “leading by example”. This cultural belief has been adopted company-wide and has set the foundation for a supportive workplace where hard work and family-centric values are rewarded.

According to Ellen Voie, president and CEO of WIT, the award was created in 2018 to support an element of WIT’s mission: to promote the accomplishments of companies that are focused on the employment of women in the trucking industry.
There are several key features that distinguish companies recognized on this list, including corporate cultures that foster gender diversity; competitive compensation and benefits; flexible hours and work requirements; professional development opportunities; and career advancement opportunities. More than 13,000 votes were cast to identify the companies named to the list.
