Sunset’s appearance in the Top 10 was determined by gathering responses from both 3PLs and shippers; Inbound Logistics then examined the forces that influence collaborations between them. They evaluated challenges that shippers face and the services they need, along with solutions 3PLs provide—from transportation, warehousing, and supply chain strategy, to information technology. Sunset is proud to have moved up three spots from #8 in 2019, paving the way for our family-style brand of service and accountability to be recognized.
Within the feature article, Inbound Logistics has been able to capture a pulse on what shippers are requiring of their 3PLs in the current environment, stating, “Shipper respondents clearly understand that you get what you pay for. More than three-quarters of shippers who responded to the survey—77%—tell us that service is more important than price in a relationship with a 3PL. When we asked shippers to name their top three 3PLs and explain their choices, phrases such as “excellent service,” “willingness to go the extra mile,” and “personal touch and innovation” figured prominently in the responses.” (pg. 72, Inbound Logistics, Digital Edition)
Sunset has truly seen the power of customer and carrier relationships in 2020.
“We are guided by our core values of being accountable, flexible, loyal, responsive, and valuing our relationships above all else“, says Lindsey Graves, Chief Operating Officer. “Aside from our full-service 3PL capabilities, it has been our culture of being a reliable logistics partner in times of need that have distinguished us from the competition.“
The investment has proven to be integral to Sunset’s customers, as one industrial manufacturing client states, “Sunset takes a sincere interest in our business and makes us a priority, even though we’re not their largest client“.
